Who is Lily the Pink?
Lily the Pink is the name that Susan started to use rather than using her old married name. Susan means lily and she liked the song she heard in her childhood.Susan always wanted to be a teacher but somehow it never dawned on her that she could be a teacher of adults rather than children until her own daughter was a teenager. Once she made that discovery she was so keen to make a start that in order to gain teaching qualifications she started teaching IT on a voluntary basis.
Once qualified she took on various part time roles mainly teaching IT. This has included teaching qualfications offered by both City and Guilds and RSA. She has been considering the possiblity of setting up mouseless basic IT classes for those unable to use a mouse. In addition to teaching IT she has also taught A level Religious Studies in a local college.
Her qualifications include
- BA Hons Combined Arts
- RSA Advanced Diploma in IT
- Post Graduate Certificate in Education
- Post Graduate Diploma in MultiMedia Applications
More recently she has done some work for an organisation which specialises in supporting people who are trying to improve their mental and emotional well being. Many clients have a variety of other issues, to the point that if you can name an impediment then at least one client will have had to deal with it to some extent or other. Working with people in educational and social care situations has given her a wide range of experience of dealing with the needs of individuals.
